Dr. Joanne Benoit graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal in 1980. She completed her specialty in obstetrics and gynecology in 1985 and received her certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

 

Subsequently, Dr Benoit completed her sub-specialization in reproductive endocrinology, including ultrasound, microsurgery and in vitro fertilization at the University of British Columbia. After her training, she joined the fertility team at St-Luc Hospital in Montreal. She has always been actively involved in teaching and hospital management. For several years, she has been head of the Gynecology and Outpatients Department at St-Luc hospital of the University of Montreal Hospital Centre (CHUM).She is currently an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Montreal and Director of the training program for the sub-specialization in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. The program of sub-specialization is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is affiliated with the University of Montreal. It is the only francophone education program of its kind and one of the largest fertility training programs in Canada. In addition to her contribution in education, Dr. Benoit is actively involved in research at clinique ovo.
