Maternal History: The grandfather died at age 54 from cardiovascular disease (due to smoking). The grandmother died at age 85 from leukemia. His mother has high cholesterol and rheumatoid arthritis. An aunt has type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and Alzheimer’s disease. An uncle has high cholesterol. Another uncle died at age 80 from a complication related to diabetes.
