Dear patients,

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the clinique ovo has been taking all necessary measures to protect its employees and patients. We believe that as a health care facility, we must maintain the highest standards of health. It is also important for us to allow you to experience these important moments in your journey with your partner, while keeping our other patients safe.

For these reasons, we have decided to implement the new measure that will soon be introduced in Quebec: the vaccine passport.

As of September 1st, we will restart allowing the presence of our patient’s partners upon presentation of their vaccination passport.

We invite you to download the Vaxi-Code application, take a screenshot of the proof of vaccination (with QR code) or have a paper copy of it since it will be required from our patients’ partners before entering the clinique ovo. If your partner does not have a vaccination passport, we will unfortunately have to refuse access to this person.

Note that there will be no restriction of treatment based on the vaccination passport. No medical care will be denied to a patient or his/her partner who does not have proof of vaccination and no treatment will be affected by this measure.

We would like to assure you that we continue to maintain the measures put in place since the beginning of the pandemic and that our priority is your safety. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding this change, we will be happy to assist you.

Sincerely,
The ovo clinic team

FAQ

Q: I am not vaccinated and I am in a fertility protocol with you, what happens to my treatments?
A: No treatment will be affected by this measure. There will be no treatment restrictions based on the vaccine passport. No medical care or appointments that are part of the protocol will be refused to a patient or his/her partner who does not have proof of vaccination.

Q: I am vaccinated and in treatment with you, but my partner is not. What is going on?
A: As a patient, you will continue your treatment without having to provide proof of vaccination for your treatments. Your partner will also not be required to provide proof of immunization when he/she is present for essential appointments (e.g., semen sample production). When his/her presence is not required, your partner or companion will need to provide proof of vaccination to accompany you.

Q: Will my partner be able to accompany me during my egg retrieval and embryo transfer even if he/she is not vaccinated?
A: Partners will not be required to provide proof of vaccination to accompany you during embryo transfer and egg retrieval procedures.

Q: I plan to start a fertility protocol with your clinic, but neither I nor my partner are vaccinated. Can I still make an appointment with you?
A: Yes, we do not refuse any patient who is not vaccinated. However, if your partner is not vaccinated either, he/she cannot accompany you to your appointments and can only be present for his/her own appointments (e.g., production of a semen sample).

Q: I heard that the vaccine affects fertility/disrupts menstrual cycles?
A: No studies have shown any negative impact of the COVID-19 vaccine on the menstrual cycle of female or male fertility. In addition, the vaccine is safe and approved during pregnancy.
