My husband and I were trying to conceive for a year before we went to have any preliminary tests done. At another clinic we were assured that all was well and that there were no obvious factors causing our infertility. I was 31 years old and my husband was 34 so they suggested that we give it more time.
A year later and still not pregnant, we decided to try OVO and we are so happy that we did!! During our first meeting with Dr. Antaki he took a look at all of our previous test results and diagnosed with me with stage 3 endometriosis. He recommended that I start taking a drug to put me into menopause for three months to give my system a chance to rest, then try a round of IVF. He confirmed what we already suspected, that we would not conceive without some medication intervention.
We lived in Ottawa so we made a plan of how we would drive back and forth for the ultrasounds and procedures, bought the drugs and made arrangements with our jobs. Everything went exactly as planned and I got pregnant on the first try!!! We still have 3 frozen embryos should we need them in the future. Our perfect little 10 lb baby was born 9 months later!!
We are so grateful to OVO and all of the doctors and nurses that met with us at each step of the way.
