Dr. Jacques Kadoch

Dr Jacques Kadoch, MD

Dr. Kadoch is an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal. He is currently Head of the Medicine and Reproductive Biology department at the Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM). He is also the Medical Director of the CHUM Reproductive Centre.

Dr. Jacques Kadoch is one of the co-founders of the ovo clinic where he serves as medical director of ovo labo and ovo r&d. Dr Jacques Kadoch has completed his medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris before preparing for his medical examinations which he received in 1995. As senior resident of hospitals in Paris, he became chief of clinic in the service of Professor Rene Frydman, a pioneer with an international reputation in the modern treatments of infertility. For more than two years he obtained a solid theoretical and practical training in reproductive medicine and surgery. He was a teacher at the Faculty of Medicine, Paris XI. After this, he completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Montreal. Dr. Kadoch has worked to improve patient care by helping the development of new techniques such as natural cycle IVF and In Vitro Maturation (IVM). His numerous scientific publications reflect his involvement in in several research projects

He was the director of the university program of Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (GREI) and he is a committee member for examinations for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in GREI.

Dr. Jacques Kadoch received in 2010, at the Congress of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS), the Marinko M Biljan Memorial Award, presented to a fertility specialist to illustrate the excellence of its work in clinical research.

Dr. Kadoch is particularly known for his work on IVF in natural cycle (IVFn).

      Cécile Lesaint, PhD

      Dr. Cécile LeSaint has a doctorate in analytical chemistry-immunoassay and has spent most of her career at l’Institut de pharmacologie moléculaire et cellulaire (IPMC) in France. This experience allowed her to deepen her knowledge of immunological analytical techniques based on biochemical analysis. In addition, she gained expertise in cell culture. These experiences are remarkable assets for basic research in embryology, stem cells from umbilical cord, in endocrinology, as well as in medical biology.
      In 2009, she moved to Quebec where she developed various bioanalytical tests as scientific research in immuno-chemistry. This experience allowed her to become familiar with FDA standards, good laboratory practice and standard laboratory procedures.

      Dr. LeSaint joined the clinique ovo in November 2010. She manages ovo prenatal, ovo biosurance, ovo labo and is the Scientific Director of ovo r&d..

        Dominique Bérubé

        Dominique Bérubé, PhD

        Dominique Bérubé has a Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine (Genetics) with a specialization in Cytogenetics. She completed a year-long fellowship in cytogenetics at the Timone Children’s Hospital in Marseille, in the department of Professor Jean-François Mattéi, and another year at the Neckers Hospital for Sick Children in Paris, in the Department of Chromosome Physiology under Professor Michel Vekemans. She also completed a fellowship in medical genetics at the Health Science Center in Winnipeg, in the department of Professor Jane Evans.
        She has worked for 15 years in the Department of Cytogenetics and Prenatal Diagnostics at the CHUL and now manages the Genetics Department at ovo labo. She is a member of the Association de Cytogénétique du Québec. .

            DR ROLAND ANTAKI, MD, FRCSc

            From three generations of gynecologists, Dr. Roland Antaki completed his medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Aleppo in Syria in 2002. After obtaining his certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the United States and a licence from the Medical Council of Canada, he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Sherbrooke and obtained certification of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2009. He thereafter completed a sub-specialty in Gynecological Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Montreal and was one of the first to be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in this sub-specialty. 


            Dr. Antaki is assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Montreal. He also chairs the Committee for the Evaluation of Medical Acts of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Montreal (CHUM).

            He was a recipient of the award for excellence in endoscopy of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) in 2009 at the University of Sherbrooke and he won prizes from the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada for scientific presentations.

              Dr. François Bissonnette

              DR FRANÇOIS BISSONNETTE, MD, FRCSc

              Dr. François Bissonnette is Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Montreal. He is an associate clinical professor and winner of the Van Campenhout award for the quality of his teaching.


              Graduating in medicine from the University of Montreal in 1980, he completed his specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology and obtained certification of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1985. Later, he continued his training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Louisville, Kentucky.


              Dr. Bissonnette was President of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) in 2009 and is responsible for the Canadian Assisted Reproductive Technologies Registry for in vitro fertilization activities (CARTR).Author and co-author of several publications, he supervises many research projects and directs doctoral students. Dr. Bissonnette is a member of several Professional associations. He is currently president of the Quebec Society of Fertlity and Andrology and the Quebec Association of Fertologues.

              Dr. Bissonnette is one of the five founding members of the clinique ovo in 2003. He is also medical Director of ovo fertility.

                    Dr. Louise Lapensée

                    Dr. Louise Lapensée, MD, FRCSC

                    Dr. Louise Lapensée is an obstetrician-gynecologist at St-Luc Hospital of the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) since 1996. Alongside her activities as a clinician, she pursued a career in teaching. Since 1996 she teaches at the University of Montreal, where she is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

                    In 1994, Dr. Lapensée initiated a specialization in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with the Harvard University in Boston. She continued a second fellowship in fundamental research in the field of reproduction at the University of Montreal where she had completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology from 1989 to 1994. She received her medical degree from Laval University in 1989. She had studied biology previously at the University of Ottawa and at the University of Montreal.

                    She is very active in the field of obstetrics and gynecology research since 1997. Moreover she has published more than 30 articles in specialized magazines, has co-authored two book chapters and has written a forty abstracts. She gave a hundred conferences in Canada and in the United States. Her areas of interest other than in vitro fertilization are laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery and the treatment of uterine fibroids.

                    Dr. Lapensée is one of the five founding members of the clinique ovo in 2003. She is also medical Director of ovo academy. .

                      Dr. Sylvain Ménard

                      Physician and engineer, Dr. Sylvain Ménard made his first studies in engineering at Laval University and then completed his medical degree at the University of Sherbrooke in 2004.

                      Subsequently he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Sherbrooke and received his certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPSC) in 2009.

                      From 2009 to 2011, Dr. Ménard has completed a fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (GREI) at the University of Montreal. In 2011, he was part of the first cohort to pass the RCPSC examination of this sub-specialty and he became one of the first doctors to obtain the official title of the Royal College in this sub-specialty (GREI).

                      Since 2011, Dr. Ménard is a doctor at the CHUM and assistant professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Montreal. He focuses on treatment of infertility in Assisted Reproduction Clinic of the CHUM and at clinique ovo. In both settings, he is actively involved in research and training of residents and fellows at the University of Montreal.

                            Rosella Manzo Daras

                            Rosella Manzo Daras studied to be a diagnostic radiology technician at the prestigious Dawson College in Montreal. In 1989, she was hired by St. Mary’s Hospital as a radiology technician, where she worked for almost 17 years, acquiring valuable skills and vast experience.
                            During this time, she also studied biology at McGill University and took additional courses at the Jewish General Hospital. She occasionally teaches at St. Mary’s Hospital. Today, she trains UQAM residents in nuchal translucency ultrasound techniques.

                            Rosella Manzo Daras is also a member of the FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation) and the OTIMRO (Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale). Since 2005, she has held the position of Director of the Ultrasound department at clinique ovo.
                            Her approach to and follow-up of mothers-to-be, as well as her expert knowledge, make her an invaluable asset to clinique ovo. Many patients ask for her by name!

                              Suzanne Brunet

                              Suzanne Brunet

                              Suzanne Brunet studied to be a diagnostic radiology technician at Cègep de Rimouski, later moving on to Collège Ahuntsic, where she studied ultrasound and CT technologies.


                              For over 20 years (1988-2011), she held the position of Obstetrical Ultrasound Coordinator and Technician at Hôpital Sainte-Justine. She also worked at the Royal Victoria Hospital and taught ultrasound at Lakeshore Hospital.

                              From 2006 to 2012, Suzanne Brunet was an expert technician on GE Health Care’s ViewPoint software and ultrasound devices. She also participated in numerous research projects and publications on obstetrical ultrasound, and over the years has attended a large number of continuing education courses and conferences to deepen her knowledge.

                              Today, she is a member of the FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation), and a member in good standing of the OTIMRO (Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale). As a certified independent obstetrical ultrasound technician, she has been putting her experience to work for clinique ovo since 2008.

                                Genetic counselors

                                Claire Bascuñana

                                Claire Bascuñana is a certified genetic counselor (Canadian Association of Genetic Counselling) and she graduated from the Master's Program in Genetic Counseling from the Université de Montréal in 2012.

                                She started her academic curriculum in France where she obtained a Master's degree in Science Biomedical, specialty Genetics, Development and Immunity at the Université des Sciences de Montpellier. Her training was completed by a D.E.S.S in Bioethics at the Université de Montréal in 2010.

                                After having worked more than two years at the Quebec Pancreas Cancer Study at the Royal Victoria Hospital as genetic counselor and research coordinator, she has developed clinical expertise in prenatal and oncogenetics for almost 3 years within the Department of Medical Genetics at the Jewish General Hospital. She is currently completing a certificate in Perinatal Psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal.

                                Passionate about the field of prenatal and fertility, she offers an empathetic and personalized genetic counseling service within the Clinique ovo.
