SARS-COV-2 IGG TEST

The SARS-CoV-2 IgG assay is intended for the qualitative detection of class G immunoglobulin antibodies (IgG) directed against the core protein of SARS-CoV-2 in the serum and plasma of patients suspected of having been infected with coronavirus (COVID-19).

WHY IS THIS TEST PRESCRIBED?

The SARS-CoV-2 IgG assay is intended for use as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive immune response to SARS-CoV-2, indicating recent or prior infection. At this time, it is unknown for how long antibodies persist following infection and if the presence of antibodies confers protective immunity. The SARS-CoV-2 IgG assay should not be used to diagnose acute SARS-CoV-2 infection.

IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 are generally detectable in blood several days after initial infection. Individuals may have detectable virus present for several weeks following seroconversion.

SENSITIVITY

The sensitivity of the test is ≥ 99%.

SAMPLING PROCEDURE

The sample is obtained by taking a blood sample from one of the clinic’s points of service.

RESULTS

Results are available within 3 business days.

COST

The price of the test is $145.00

Health care workers benefit from a 20% discount on this price
