Clinical statistics

The statistics displayed serve as a tool to help you to assess the chances of getting pregnant. However, it remains important to understand that many factors can influence your chances of success.

Clinics produce statistics in different ways and sometimes it can be difficult to understand their significance. For example, many factors such as age and the reason of infertility, as well as the number of embryos transferred have a direct influence on the results, but are not always evident in the statistics.

QUEBEC REGULATIONS FOR EMBRYO TRANSFER

Since August 5, 2010, the number of embryos that can be transferred is determined by Quebec law according to the patient age. As required by law, Ovo fertility transfers only one embryo in the majority of cases. This is important since singleton pregnancies compared to mulitple pregnancies improve the chances of having a healthy baby.

ONGOING PREGNANCY RATE AND IMPLANTATION RATE FOR STANDARDISED PATIENTS

The implantation rate is a measure of quality control in a ART (Assisted Reproductive Technologies) laboratory. Because there are many variables that can affect the results, it is important to examine a standardised group of patients in the analysis to ensure consistent quality.
Standardised patients are defined according to the following criteria : aged under 38, on their first or second attempt who had at least six eggs available, only one embryo transferred and no assisted hatching.
