DR ROBERT HEMMINGS, MD, MSc
Dr Robert Hemmings graduated from the University of Sherbrooke in medicine and physiology (MSc). He completed his residency in obstetrics-gynecology at McGill University. He undertook a sub-speciality, which he completed in 1983, in infertility and reproductive endocrinology approved by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He renewed this speciality certification in 2000.
Dr. Hemmings is a gynecologist-obstetrician and assistant professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of infertility and reproductive endocrinology. His implication in the in vitro fertilisation domain goes back almost 15 years. Dr. Hemmings was a member of the McGill Reproductive Center for five years and he currently occupies the position of director of gynecology at St-Mary’s Hospital, affiliated with McGill University.
Since the beginning of his career, Dr. Hemmings has been on a number of committees. He is, among others, president of the examiners jury for the speciality exams in obstetric gynecology of the Quebec College of Physicians. Since 1997 he has been an examiner and a member of the question creation committee for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Furthermore, he sits on the administrative council for the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologist of Quebec.
Other than his clinical activities, Dr. Hemmings has dedicated a significant part of his time towards clinical research, whereby he has published more than 100 articles and scientific resumes. He is currently involved in teaching medical students and residents in obstetric gynecology at the McGill University.
