OVO CLINIC INFO
PRIX INTÉRIEURS FERDIE 2009
Into the fourth dime - The ovo clinic opens its doors on new technologies aimed at prolonging life. A first in Quebec, this small centre provides the possibility to preserve the stem cells of newborns. The clinic offers a wide array of services around prenatal screening, infertility treatment and obstetrics-gynaecology. For this critical package of expertise, the architects have created a cocoon-like setting. High technology reigns throughout the building where workspaces are appropriately organized.. source: texte du magazine Healthcare.
BEST OF CANADA 2009 DESIGN AWARD INSTITUTIONAL
Beyond the need to create a space which would meet stringent functional requierements while appealing to its visitors, ovo clinic intended to use the design of its new clinic to increase public awareness of the leading edge technology it employed as well as stem cell research in general. With this in mind, they sought to create an avant-garde, high-tech image for this first private umbilical cord blood preservation center in Quebec, showcasing the reservoir where the cord blood is stored.
