Robert Hemmings, MD, FRCSC
Dr. Hemmings is a University of Sherbrooke graduate in medicine and physiology. He subsequently completed his residency in obstetrics and gynaecology at McGill University and did a sub-specialization in reproductive endocrinology approved by the American board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He was re-certified in this sub-specialization in 2000.
Dr. Hemmings is an associate professor in the McGill University department of obstetrics and gynaecology. He has been active in the field of infertility and reproductive endocrinology for 20 years. Dr. Hemmings has performed in vitro fertilization for more than 15 years. He has been a member of the Mc-Gill Reproductive Centre for the last five years. He is currently the head of gynaecology at St-Mary's Hospital, affiliated with McGill University.
Dr. Hemmings has been an active member of many committees, from the outset of his career. He is currently president of the examining board of the Quebec College of Physicians in the specializations of obstetrics and gynaecology. He has been an examiner for the Royal College of Canada since 1997 and is a member of the nucleus committee for obstetrics and gynaecology. He is also a board member of the Quebec Association of Obstetrician Gynaecologists
Along with his clinical duties, Dr. Hemmings is involved in various clinical research projects. He has published more than 100 articles in medical journals and has delivered presentations on many scientific abstracts in various meetings and seminars. He is currently teaching medical students and residents in obstetrics and gynaecology at McGill University.
