First visit preparation

It is important that you have on hand all the relevant examinations or medical records of previous infertility treatment. If you do not have them, we need you to sign an authorization to transfer your medical file (download document in Resources).

If you have a referral from your doctor, bring it with you at the first visit.

When you have all the documents, you can make an appointment at 514-798-2000. It is important to meet with the two partners during the first visit if you are a couple.

PROCESS STEPS

So that all stages of the process are clear, here is a brief description of each of these steps.

MEET WITH THE PHYSICIAN FOR EXAMINATIONS

At your first appointment, you will have a consultation with one of our gynecologist specialists to discuss your situation. At Ovo fertility, we understand that these first steps are very difficult for you. If you are referred by a doctor, it is important to bring a copy of your file containing the results of any tests and analysis that you have carried out in the previous 10 months, if it is the case.

It takes about 30 minutes for the first consultation and the costs are covered by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ). There is no administrative charge. The specialist will give you an initial recommendation and will prescribe diagnostic tests.

For diagnostic tests, refer to the section “diagnostic tests at the first meeting”. ».

MEETING WITH THE NURSE FOR FURTHER EXPLANATION

You will meet the nurse who will review the plan with you, provide additional explanation as needed and answer your questions about the steps of the proposed treatment. She will also provide details about the diagnostic tests that you have been prescribed.

FOLLOW-UP VISIT FOR RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Once your tests are completed, you will return to your doctor to discuss the results of your tests. You may need to meet other consultants (urologist, endocrinologist, etc.). Then you will build together a treatment plan.

STARTING THE TREATMENT

Once you have been prescribed a protocol, you will meet the nurse who will guide you through the steps of treatment. She will give you the registration and consent forms required for the treatment you have been prescribed. The coordination team will contact you to tell you when to start. During your cycle, you will be supported by our team at every step.
